The Clan Lamont Society of Canada’s commitment to our heritage
The Clan Lamont Society of Canada offers financial support to facilities and events that are both a part of the Lamont history and Scottish culture. These causes are funded through member dues, donations, raffles, and the sale of scottish oriented merchandise such as music and jewelry.
Kilfinan Church Kilfinan Church in Scotland houses the Lamont vault where an 11th century cross watches over the interned remains of the clan chiefs.
The Ship Hector TheShip Hector brought the first permanent Scottish immigrants to Canada in 1773. This replica, launched on 17 September, 2000, was built in the town of Pictou, Nova Scotia using the original plans and the same materials and tools as were available to the shipwrights of the time.
Loch Broom Church Lock Broom Church is a recreation of the first church in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County. It was built in 1787 by settlers from the ship Hector. Services were conducted in Gaelic and English.
